Welcome to Munich’s new business hotspot: smartvillage Bogenhausen

 

 

 

On October 13, 2022, we opened a second location in Munich – the smartvillage Bogenhausen directly next to the well-known Arabella Tower. On 3.500 m², we created 14 creative spaces for workshops, meetings, and events of any size. Since we’ve already welcomed more than 40.000 guests and hosted countless events at our first location smartvillage Schwanthalerhöhe, our success story, therefore, goes into the next round. After some intense months of design planning and renovation, we finally ended up inviting our community to a spectacular opening party in the freshly renovated building.

 

REVITALIZING AN OLD CONFERENCING CENTER INTO MUNICH’S NEW BUSINESS HOTSPOT

Within 5 months, we transformed the former conference center of the 4 points Sheraton hotel into Munich’s new hotspot for collaboration and inspiration. The journey was incredibly exciting, a rollercoaster for everybody involved, and eventually an amazing team achievement. The before and after pictures speak volumes.

 

 

MEETINGS AND EVENTS IN ANY DIMENSION

In the future, the unique location will offer smaller and medium-sized creative spaces for intensive team workshops, as well as conference and meeting rooms for up to 800 people.

 

 

What makes the new smartvillage special? The campus is defined by unconventional designs, hospitality focus, and community spirit and brings a breath of fresh air into the traditional and often strongly conservative conference industry. True to the motto „Welcome to your playground!“, we, a team of event managers, interior designers, and new-work specialists, will once again turn the working world upside down and create a real playground for unforgettable business meetings and events. 

 

 

THE DESIGN THEME OF THE NEW LOCATION: A „BULLI“ TOUR THROUGH EUROPE  

The design theme – a “Bulli”- tour through Europe – is as unique as the spirit that smartvillage has been spreading and standing for since its foundation in 2018. It stands for freedom, flexibility, and community feeling and supports our overall goal: taking our guests on a journey into the working world of the future. Breakfast with colleagues in Italy, a workshop session on the Côte d’Azur, and a refreshing after-work drink at the champagne bar in Paris; the new workplace design takes you on a tour to 14 different destinations in Europe – to a wide variety of countries, cultures, and design characteristics.

 

As sustainability  is one of the core elements of our startup DNA, it also plays a major role regarding our workplace design and choice of furniture as well as our operational processes and daily structures within our new campus. With sustainable furnishing partners, upcycling, DIY mentality, predominantly vegetarian catering, and much more, we’ll repeatedly set strong impulses for a greener event industry and more sustainable workspace concepts.

 

 

THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR OPENING PARTY

What a start to a new chapter! Our opening party rewarded the team and everybody involved in this crazy process of renovating the space and getting everything ready just in time for our first bookings. It inspired more than 400 guests and strengthened connections between everybody who joined. Roadtrips through the new location, Action games like Bullriding or an interactive parkour, team building activities from our partner teamgeist, Drag Queens, live cooking from our catering partner MAHAVI, drinks, and lots of fun. WHAT’S NEXT? WELCOME TO YOUR PLAYGROUND! 

Enough of our big opening, so what’s next? We are looking forward to establishing our new location in Bogenhausen as an exciting and creative event campus for events of any size. We’ve already hosted the first bigger events and the excitement in the eyes of our first guests as well as their feedback motivated us to improve their experience even further.
